  • Requirement: Applicants must hold a temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) to be eligible for this visa.
  • Duration of Stay: This visa category grants permanent residency.
  • Cost: The fee is included in the combined application fee for both temporary and permanent partner visas.

Offshore Partner Visa

Subclass 309 Partner visa

The Partner Visa Subclass 309 serves as the initial stage towards acquiring permanent residency through partnership. This provisional visa permits the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to reside in Australia temporarily.

  • Nature: It serves as the first stage towards obtaining the permanent Partner visa (subclass 100).
